Mariam Mendy Njie, FCCA, is the Head of Finance Systems and Controls, Africa at Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Ltd since 2011. She took up the additional role of Head of the Global Finance Services, Kenya from January 2016. Prior to joining the bank in Kenya, Mariam was CFO and Executive Director Finance in Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania Ltd from 2006 to 2011 and held the same position in Standard Chartered Bank Gambia Ltd from 2002 to 2006. She joined the bank in The Gambia as Financial Controller in 2001. Mariam also worked in Action Aid The Gambia from 1996 to 2001, The Gambia Telecommunications Ltd from 1991 to 1996 and The Gambia Produce Marketing Board where she started her career in Finance in 1981. Her interests focus on financial and management accounting, operational risk management and people development.
